2025: GMAT to AI
As this time of year rolls around, it’s a good moment to reflect on the past period’s experiences and transformations.
Global MBA application numbers saw a significant rebound this year, recovering from a pandemic-induced slump. We’ve also seen the full implementation of the new GMAT format. This hasn’t just led to a substantial recovery in test-taker numbers worldwide; more importantly, Taiwanese test-takers have performed significantly better under the new format than the old one! Average scores have shifted from lagging behind the US, China, and India to actually surpassing them. It’s safe to say the new GMAT format is entirely advantageous for Taiwanese candidates!
My Response: Reshaping GMAT Instruction with AI and Data

1. Reverse Engineering: Cracking the GMAT Core Algorithm
I began by re-examining the most complex core of the test: the scoring algorithm. With the help of AI, I, who previously knew nothing about coding and wasn’t proficient in math or statistics, was able to successfully write a simulation model for the GMAT adaptive testing algorithm using Python. Based on this system, I can now analyze the specific difficulty of each question a student encounters during the test. Combined with practice data, this allows me to identify true weaknesses and design highly precise study plans.
2. Rebalancing the Curriculum: DI Becomes the Key to Success in the New Format
With the addition of the DI section, Taiwanese students have gained a significant advantage. I’ve substantially increased the proportion of DI in my courses, aiming for a balanced allocation of time across the V/Q/DI sections. In addition to redesigning and re-recording the entire curriculum myself, I’ve also Leveraged AI to introduce a completely new learning experience.
3. AI Teaching Assistants and Diagnostic Tools: Achieving True Personalized Learning
Remarkable Results: Shorter Preparation Cycles, New High Scores for Top Students
Through this series of innovations, the previously lengthy 2-3 month preparation cycle can now be efficiently reduced to 0.5-1.5 months. Furthermore, the number of students achieving scores of 645+ has reached new heights.
We have numerous students who have made incredible progress within 45 days:
- 545 -> 715
- 535 -> 695
- 625 -> 695
- 495 -> 675
- 555 -> 675
- 565 -> 675
- 555 -> 655
- 585 -> 645
- 575 -> 645
- 525 -> 645
- …and so on.
My Commitment: High-Frequency, High-Quality Free Preparation Resources
This year, I’ve also decided to seriously manage my IG and Youtube channel (which I had neglected for a while). I aim to update them with a frequency of 3-4 times per week or more, ensuring all content is practical and genuinely useful for test-takers.
Whether it’s study plan tutorials, problem-solving techniques, or review methods, all videos will be completely free. In the new year, I hope to avoid neglecting them again!
I also hope students will follow along. If you find my content helpful, please give it a like to show your support. This lets me know that my videos are reaching you during your GMAT preparation journey, which motivates me to record more videos and share further research on the GMAT exam!
Wishing you all the best on your GMAT path and success in achieving your goals in the new year!
